The Dawn Of A New Paradigm

Barrie, ON -- The dawn of the 21st century has introduced epic changes
within the music industry. From digital downloads and on-line social
networks to technological innovations such as the iPod, the landscape has
changed in drastic measures. Ultimately, it has empowered the
do-it-yourself crowd in ways unimaginable to the generation of artists
that preceded them.

Outside of the digital innovations currently in the marketplace, a cursory
glance would leave one with the impression that the manufacturing and
retailing of musical instruments is somewhat lagging behind the times.

"Not so," says Mike and Natalie Carparelli, proprietors of Dot On Shaft
Guitars. "Not only do we sell quality instruments, we design and build
them as well. Further, the manner in which we are introducing these
instruments to the marketplace is in complete contrast to the typical
approach of bricks and mortar retailing."

Not to be confused with custom luthier shops which are as ubiquitous as
the styles of instruments they create, Dot On Shaft Guitars have scoured
the globe in search of manufacturers capable of reproducing the quality
that Mr Carparelli demands at a price consumers can afford.

Although replete with a custom shop of their own, Dot On Shaft caters to
all levels of players from entry level to the consumate and discerning
pro. Off the rack or custom built, you can be assured of expert
craftsmanship if it bears the Dot On Shaft name!

"Customers always ask me what the significance in the name is," says Mike
Carparelli. "The Dot On Shaft name is incredibly significant to us because
it represents principles that are near and dear to our hearts and beliefs
that we choose to live by. My wife Natalie and I try our best to run this
company in the same way we approach day to day life. We strive to be
independent from the rest, innovate in ideology, intelligent in thought
and iconic in stature. A common characteristic between each of these
values is the letter i which is nothing more than a dot on a shaft when
examined more closely."

Established in 2005 originally as an on-line distributor, the company took
off and hit the ground running selling over 650 guitars in its first year.
Now, with over 80 models of guitars and basses to choose from and a bricks
and mortar location set to launch on July 14th in Barrie Ontario, Dot On
Shaft has become the fastest growing guitar company in Canada.

It's Raining Free Guitars June 30th!

Toronto -- At least it will be at the Opera House on June 30 (Toronto).

Dot On Shaft Guitars, a brand new Canadian manufacturer and direct distributor of quality guitars and basses, will be giving away a fabulous double neck electric guitar to one lucky winner at each event!

Established in 2005, D.O.S. has successfuly established an on line presence as an importer of well crafted musical instruments. Branching into custom lines and their very own pro shop for 'made to order' requests this past year with retail locations coming soon, the company decided to focus their attention on providing financial assistance to up and coming local talent.

In an era of waning support from major labels and the music industry at large, company founders Mike and Natalie Carparelli felt it was important to somehow support new music acts and allow them the freedom to develop and do their thing.

"Record companies are no longer handing out cash advances for recording anymore and tour support is pretty much non existent today. What's a new band to do?" Carparelli states rather emphatically.

Indeed. And with many local "buzz" clubs being (or becoming) pay-to-play, meaning, one has to pay to book the venue and shoulder the risk in order to play, the avenues for exposure become rather scarce.

Dot On Shaft in essence has taken on the role of club concert promoter by providing the requisite funding and platform for new and emerging artists to showcase their act. They've also thrown in a free guitar give-away for every show they support to aid in the promotion of each event.

All one has to do to be eligible to win is attend any of the following showcase events and fill out a ballot entry form:e.
